Application of a subvention for SMEs or registered freelancers is now open

Japanese government started accepting an application of a subvention for SMEs or registered freelancers who are seriously affected by the covid. Deadline: 31 May. 【Overview of the subvention】

Any SMEs or registered freelancer* in Japan is eligible if:

(1) affected by the covid pandemic; and

(2) experienced sales decline by more than 30 % in any month between Nov 2021 and Mar 2022, compared to the same month of 2018 - 2021.


Amount of the subvention:

¥2.5 million max for SMEs, and ¥500,000 max for registered freelancers.


*'Registered freelancer' means 'kojin-jigyonushi' (個人事業主), who has submitted a notification a local tax office.
